PAPER CAMERAS SAY HELLO

October 14th, 2008 · 6 Comments · Announcements, Last of the Polaroids

Welcome to Paper Cameras!
PAPER CAMERAS IS A BLOG ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY, first and foremost. However, the only kinds of photographs you will see uploaded here by me will be film. I am attempting to follow that simple life I long for. Although film may actually not be more “simple” than digital, it feels more real and hand crafted. I have quite a few different avenues I would like to explore on this site. My personal blog is taking a back seat for a while so I can concentrate on this more.

I am down to my last 3 packs of Polaroid film, however I do intend to procure more before the last days of Polaroid arrive. I want this blog to be an illustration for my love for the Polaroid medium and in doing so, I will post the last of my Polaroids here. A sad, but glowing count down of sorts.

I wish you all the best for this blog. It sounds very interesting. I’m not in Polaroid, but I bought an Yashica 124-MAT a month ago for doing film photography, just to counter my digital experience. Currently I’m looking for a scanner to get my negatives from film still onto my computer. A lab migth be something for the coming years.

    Thanks Jen!
Oliver, I did too. :) I’m loving mine, waiting on a roll to pick up in a couple days from my Yashica mat.

I am so happy you started this! I love film photography but have no time to devote to it right now, in a few months maybe. I love everything you do!

you are posting very stunning photographs. thank you. i’ve been working with polaroid sx-70 since 1980 and have had many gallery shows. i hand etch the images using the ignition key from a 1965 mustang and have produced a large body of work of impressionism. the images are being printed on canvas with archival inks. would like to submit photos to you. how ? peace jeff hillier
