A Walk Around the Inner West

November 5th, 2008 · 5 Comments · Film Photography, I Shoot Film

From Balmain, to Leichhardt and onto Newtown. I love living in the Inner West. I love the village vibe and the gorgeous houses.

I wish I lived in Balmain, I’m not too far away so its a nice place to walk around. I need to shoot there more. Leichhardt has one of my favourite Sydney bookstores, Berkelouw Books. Its full of character, has just the right strength of coffee smell and has a good used section. The couch is upstairs surrounded by world globes hanging from the ceiling.

The last shot was taken at the Courthouse Hotel in Newtown. We went for a Spring afternoon lunch in the back beer garden court yard, to be greeted with a sign that read “Kitchen closed for renovation.” Such a disappointment!

Oh! This gave me pangs for home! I used to live in Leichhardt, practically live in Newtown (mostly at the courty) and work a lot in Balmain, but I’ve recently up and moved to Indonesia… but I think I’m still an inner westie at heart!

I love the blog by the way, your shots are gorgeous. I’ve been looking at your montmatre blog for quite some time…
